| Hardy splicers (the cross link) on each end of the driveshaft. check for any wear. |

Hi There, i bought a ford maverick 2.7 lwb 1997 4 days ago, drove it back home 3 hours and then a trip to the coast and back 4 hour round trip ran fine, day after brother came round tried the 4 wheel drive out to make sure worked ok and all was fine, the day after the engine check light came on and stayed on and the engine went into idle mode and could not go above 30mph, since this we have noticed there are 2 fuses missing out the fuse box, fuel pump and engine condition, hubby put the fuses back in and engine check light goes out but the engine over runs, you can turn the car off and take out key but car still runs and you have to stall it to stop, take the engine condition fuse out no engine running on and no engine check light, after having a good look around it the other day the central locking fob has stopped working and the clock and the radio have also stopped working, at the end of my tether as no ford dealer can help, their excuse is they havent worked on a maverick for so long they wouldnt know where to start and we cannot find the port to plug the engine diagnostics scanner in to try and find the fault.... can anyone help me at all, any small bit of information would be a huge help...
